Educational Verifications

Educational verifications are official documents from the Office of the Registrar. They are printed on letterhead and include our legal seal and the Registrar’s signature. Educational verifications provide information regarding enrollment status and include your name, student identification number, start and end dates of the selected semester or term, status (full-time or part-time), college level, and credit hours for the term. The verification may contain other specific information such as GPA or enrollment history. See the Education Verification Request Form for a complete list of information available. All requests submitted must include the student’s handwritten signature as authorization to release information.

Educational verifications are unique to the semester or term for which they are requested. Educational verifications are not transcripts; they do not contain a complete list of courses, grades, and GPA for each term. If this is the information you require, please see the Transcripts webpage.

Enrollment Verification

Enrollment verifications are frequently used to verify enrollment status for eligibility for financial aid and/or services such as health insurance, car insurance, county agencies, subsidized child care, loan deferments, and scholarships. You must be enrolled in classes for a given term in order for us to provide you with an enrollment verification for that term. If your tuition and fees have not yet been paid for the term, the following notation will appear: “This student is not considered a registered student for the term listed above. The student has enrolled in courses but has not paid tuition and fees for the term.”

Completion of Degree Requirements Verification

Completion of Degree Requirements verifications provide information regarding the completion of degree requirements prior to the official posting of that degree to a student’s academic record. This verification may only be requested by students who have filed to graduate and whose final grades are available for the student’s last term of enrollment. This verification is frequently requested for purposes of employment, promotion, and military commission as well as admission to other programs, institutions, or universities.

Degree Verification

If you have been approved for graduation and your degree has been posted to your record, you can order a degree verification. This type of verification will verify the degree you have completed without GPA, Course Titles, or Grades.

If you have not yet been awarded a degree and would like some proof of the completion of your degree work, please consider ordering our Completion of Degree Requirements Verification.

Educational Verification Preparation Time

Educational verifications are processed in the order in which they are received. Normal processing time is 1–3 business days and does not reflect delivery time. During college holidays and peak periods (beginning or end of terms, official registration, or graduation), it may take longer than normal to process an educational verification. Additional processing time may occur if you were last enrolled at Criswell prior to the Fall 1996 semester. Same-day pick-up is not guaranteed.

Educational Verification Pick-up

If you request to pick-up your Educational Verification, the Registrar’s Office will call you when it is available. You will be required to present proof of identity (Criswell student ID card or driver’s license). Educational verifications made out to a third party must be mailed.

Student Account Holds

Educational verifications will not be released to students who have holds on their account for outstanding balances owed to the college or other unfulfilled obligations. Contact the Student Accounts Office at 214-818-1315 if additional information is needed regarding student account holds.
