Available Merit Scholarships

The Christian Experience Scholarship is for full-time students serving in a leadership capacity at a church. These positions could range from AV technicians to small group leaders to Sunday school instructors, among other volunteer positions.

This scholarship amount is up to $500 per semester and requires a confirmation letter from the organization on company letterhead that is signed by the applicant’s supervisor or includes an email address that identifies the user with the church or organization (i.e. SupervisorName@FBC.com).

To be considered for the Christian Experience Scholarship, choose yes to question one on the supplemental application in your Financial Aid portal.

The Church Match Grant is for full or part-time students and allows the student’s home church to contribute to their education.

Criswell College grants a set amount based on enrollment hours, ranging from $400 – 1,000. The student’s church must agree to match the grant and complete the Church Match Grant Agreement as well as submit their check and signed agreement by July 15 for the Fall and December 15 for the Spring.

To be considered for the Church Match Grant, choose yes to questions fourteen and fifteen on the Supplemental application in your Financial Aid portal.

The Marshall Scholarship is for students who have completed at least one semester of study at Criswell College. They must have a stated purpose and goal of becoming a preacher of the Christian gospel and possess an exceptional commitment to the preaching ministry. The student must be enrolled full-time at the undergraduate or graduate level and demonstrate a need for financial assistance. The student is required to maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.0.

The scholarship award is up to $6000 per academic year.

The Ministry Dependent Grant is for legal dependents of any full-time church staff members. The student must be enrolled full-time and attach a brief letter of confirmation from the church.

The grant amount is up to $500 per semester.

To be considered for the Ministry Dependent Grant, choose yes to question four on the Supplemental application in your Financial Aid portal.

The Ministry Dependent Grant is for legal dependents of full-time active missionaries. The student must be enrolled full-time and attach a brief confirmation letter from the mission organization.

The grant amount is up to $500 per semester.

To be considered for the Missionary Dependent Grant, choose yes to question five on the Supplemental application in your Financial Aid portal.

The Timothy Project Scholarship is a ministry-based scholarship for new undergraduate students. The student must be enrolled full-time and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.75. The student must obtain a mentor and meet monthly with them to submit a monthly report to the school. The recipient must be involved in either a paid or unpaid church ministry position. To confirm this involvement, the student must provide a letter of confirmation from the supervisor, signed and on letterhead or with an email address that identifies the user with the church (i.e. SupervisorName@FBC.com). The applicant must submit an application and Timothy Project Statement of Beliefs Agreement. The student must maintain all the requirements of the Timothy Project Agreement, meet all college deadlines as outlined in the Course catalog and student handbook, and fulfill all financial and student responsibilities as stipulated in the catalog while maintaining a Christian testimony. The recipient will also meet with the donor or their representative annually.

The award amounts for this scholarship cover 75% off tuition and fees within the declared program major and student-sponsored housing.
