Available Graduate Student Scholarships

The Betty Criswell Scholarship is for full-time or part-time female students preparing to teach for church educational work or other areas of service. To be considered for the Betty Criswell Scholarship, choose yes to question thirteen when completing the supplemental application in your Financial Aid portal. You will also be required to complete a short essay describing your current service, ministerial goals, and the steps to achieve those goals.

The scholarship amount is determined based on available funds.

The Christian Experience Scholarship is for full-time students serving in a leadership capacity at a church. These positions could range from AV technicians to small group leaders to Sunday school instructors, among other volunteer positions.

This scholarship amount is up to $500 per semester and requires a confirmation letter from the organization on company letterhead that is signed by the applicant’s supervisor or includes an email address that identifies the user with the church or organization (i.e. SupervisorName@FBC.com).

To be considered for the Christian Experience Scholarship, choose yes to question one on the supplemental application in your Financial Aid portal.

The Church Match Grant is for full or part-time students and allows the student’s home church to contribute to their education.

Criswell College grants a set amount based on enrollment hours, ranging from $400 – 1,000. The student’s church must agree to match the grant and complete the Church Match Grant Agreement as well as submit their check and signed agreement by July 15 for the Fall and December 15 for the Spring.

To be considered for the Church Match Grant, choose yes to questions fourteen and fifteen on the Supplemental application in your Financial Aid portal.

The Criswell Sibling Grant is for full-time students with a sibling currently enrolled at Criswell College.

The amount of this grant is up to $500 per semester.

To be considered for the Criswell Sibling Grant, choose yes to question eleven on the Supplemental application in your Financial Aid portal.

The Criswell Women’s Club is a scholarship for any degree-seeking student enrolled either full-time or part-time.

The scholarship is up to $500 per semester.

The recipient must be able to share a brief testimony at a Criswell Women’s Club luncheon. All scholarship recipients must bring a thank you note for the donors to the financial aid office no later than two weeks after receiving aid and meet other expectations outlined by the donors.

To be considered for the Criswell Women’s Club Scholarship, choose yes to question sixteen on the Supplemental application in your Financial Aid portal.

The H. Leroy Metts Alumni Scholarship is for an alumnus or immediate family member of an alumnus in good standing with Criswell College. The student can be enrolled full or part-time.

Award amounts vary based on the number of credit hours the student is enrolled in, up to $200 per course for undergraduate students and up to $400 per course for Criswell College graduate students that  completed a bachelor’s degree at Criswell College.

To be considered for the H. Leroy Metts Alumni Scholarship, choose yes to question twelve on the Supplemental application in your Financial Aid portal.

The Marshall Scholarship is for students who have completed at least one semester of study at Criswell College. They must have a stated purpose and goal of becoming a preacher of the Christian gospel and possess an exceptional commitment to the preaching ministry. The student must be enrolled full-time at the undergraduate or graduate level and demonstrate a need for financial assistance. The student is required to maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.0.

The scholarship award is up to $6000 per academic year.

To be considered for the Marshall Scholarship, choose yes to question nine on the Supplemental application in your Financial Aid portal.

The President’s Scholarship is a merit scholarship for full-time undergraduate and graduate students who have achieved an exceptional GPA. Students are required to meet a minimum 3.5 GPA for undergraduates or 3.7 for graduates to qualify.

The award amount is $500 per semester.

To be considered for the President’s Scholarship, choose yes to question six on the Supplemental application in your Financial Aid portal.

The Provost’s Scholarship is a merit scholarship for full-time undergraduate and graduate students who have achieved a higher-than-average GPA. Students are required to meet a minimum 3.0 GPA for undergraduates or 3.3 for graduates to qualify.

The award amount is $300 per semester.

To be considered for the Provost’s Scholarship, choose yes to question seven on the Supplemental application in your Financial Aid portal.

The Southern Baptists of Texas Convention Scholarship is an outside scholarship that can be applied for on the STBC website at: http://sbtexas.com/scholarships/.

The scholarship amount determined by the SBTC.

To qualify for this scholarship, the student must be a member in good standing at a church affiliated with the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention. The SBTC requires 2 reference forms from first-time applicants: completed by the pastor of the church where you are a member and a personal reference. Re-applicants must submit a reference letter from the pastor of the church where you are a member.

The Vann Scholarship is an endowment scholarship for students from Africa or the Middle East. The student must be enrolled full-time.

Award amounts are dependent on funds available.

To be considered for the Vann Scholarship, choose yes to question ten on the Supplemental application in your Financial Aid portal.

The W.A. Criswell Scholarship is a need-based scholarship reserved for those who demonstrate a strong financial need. The student can either be a full or part-time student.

The award amount is up to $200 per class or $800 total.

To be considered for the W.A. Criswell Scholarship, choose yes to question seventeen on the Supplemental application in your Financial Aid portal.
