Aaron Helm June 14, 2023

Alumnus John Croasdale has been making significant strides in the world of ministry since earning his B.A. ’12 and M. Div. ’18 from Criswell College. His journey, marked by a deep commitment to God and a passion for preaching the Word, serves as an inspiration to many aspiring ministers.

Reflecting on his time at Criswell, Croasdale fondly remembers his first experience preaching in the chapel. It was a defining moment that showcased his growing confidence as a speaker. However, he also acknowledges the transformative impact of a trip to Israel during his senior year. The opportunity to walk in the footsteps of Jesus and witness the biblical sites firsthand was an awe-inspiring experience that further ignited his love for God’s Word.

Throughout his academic journey, Croasdale witnessed how God orchestrated his classes each semester to align perfectly with his needs in life and ministry. The curriculum at Criswell College not only equipped him with theological knowledge but also nurtured his ability to faithfully communicate the gospel. Today, as a result of this solid foundation, he leads a congregation that has become a vibrant, multi-ethnic community.

When asked about the key to his impactful ministry, Croasdale emphasizes the significance of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He firmly believes that apart from Christ, one can achieve nothing of eternal value. Drawing inspiration from John 15:5, he reminds fellow ministers that the effectiveness of their ministry flows from their intimate connection with the Savior. This conviction is further reinforced by the example of the apostles in Acts 4:13, whose boldness and power were directly linked to their walk with Jesus.

Croasdale’s dedication to Christ and his commitment to his congregation have not gone unnoticed. In a recent article published on the Southern Baptists of Texas Foundation’s website, titled “Heaven on Earth,” his ministry was highlighted as a shining example of transforming lives and building a heavenly community on earth[^1]. The article showcases the impact of Croasdale’s leadership and the multi-ethnic campus that has flourished under his guidance.

As Croasdale continues his journey, he is grateful to serve alongside his beloved family. His godly wife, Britni, stands faithfully by his side, and together they nurture a Christ-centered home. The couple is blessed with four wonderful sons, Andrew, Kolten, John Luke, and Jett, as well as a beautiful daughter named Daisy. Their shared commitment to Jesus fuels their passion for impacting lives and building a legacy of faith.

John Croasdale’s story, combined with the recognition in the “Heaven on Earth” article, serves as a testament to the transformative power of Criswell College and the profound impact it has on its alumni. His unwavering dedication to the Word, his flourishing multi-ethnic congregation, and his firm conviction in the necessity of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ make him a shining example of faith and ministry. With each step he takes, John Croasdale continues to inspire others to live out their faith boldly, just as he does, leaving an indelible mark on the world for the glory of God.
