We are excited to announce the third annual Criswell Legacy Awards Gala, to be held Monday, September 23rd at the Fairmont Hotel in downtown Dallas.

Joni Eareckson Tada will be the featured award recipient at this year’s gala. This special recognition is reserved for an individual who conducts their personal and professional life with Christ-like character, is committed to the inerrancy of the Bible, unselfishly gives of their time and resources to promote the gospel, and models servant leadership.

The author of more than 50 books, Joni is one of the world’s leading international advocates for people affected by disability. A diving accident in 1967 left her a quadriplegic in a wheelchair at the age of 17. She founded Joni and Friends in 1979, which quickly grew to provide Christ-centered programs to special needs families, churches, and communities. Joni survived stage III breast cancer in 2010, and still keeps a very active ministry schedule.

Three-time Super Bowl champion Chad Hennings will be the evening’s keynote speaker. After attending the Air Force Academy, Chad flew forty-five successful combat missions in an A-10 and went on to spend nine seasons as a defensive tackle for the Dallas Cowboys. He and his wife Tammy live in the DFW area with their two children, where Chad currently serves as Founder and President of the men’s ministry Wingmen.

The purpose of the Gala is to secure scholarship and educational resources for Criswell College students, whom God will use around the world as pastors, teachers, entrepreneurs, and in scores of other positions for Christ-like influence.
