Dear Criswell College Alumni,
This year brings a new challenge and opportunity as I begin my term as president of the Criswell College Alumni Association. When asked to take on the role as CCAA president, I asked myself why I make CCAA the focus of my volunteer commitment. The answer is simple: Criswell College has been a part of my life since my calling and preparation for ministry and given the impact it has had on my life, I am always looking for a way that I can give back in a substantive way. A mentor once told me, " service is the rent you pay for living on earth." It’s been my privilege and joy to serve on many fronts, whether it’s been as an accounting clerk, admission's counselor, research assistant to professors, class president, or Director of Admissions and Financial Aid. Our time at Criswell penultimately defines who we are and makes us better people for what we do. What better way to give back than by being involved?
Today's Criswell is facing both challenging and exciting times. It's exciting because we continue to maintain the highest levels of scholarship engagement and student satisfaction. There have been so many positive changes on campus such as new technology, social media adaptations, Horner Hall remodeling, dorm communities, community outreach events, my favorite as a church planter, A Church Plant degree initiative that will expand kingdom endeavors, and recently a new Vice President.
The high levels of ministry will always bring challenges of funding and enrollment matters. Demographic changes have increased the importance of recruiting cross culturally and beyond our borders. Our strong alumni network, both local and global, is truly a blessing in this regard. Our alumni are increasingly introducing promising high school students and those called to ministry to the Criswell experience. We will help Criswell respond to these new challenges.
Many alumni events are planned for 2012 and you will be hearing more of our focus on development and student recruitment. If you have been considering your own re-engagement with our Alma Mater, there is no better time. The welcome mat is out and your involvement can make a difference. Please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Thy Kingdom come,
Myron Hardy '02, President
Lead Pastor, The Omni Church Dallas
