Criswell College Appoints Four New Faculty

DALLAS – Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Joseph Wooddell, announced that Criswell College has appointed four new faculty members to compensate for the recent growth in enrollment and degree programs.

Dr. Craig V. Mitchell has been appointed as Associate Professor of Philosophy, Politics, & Economics (PPE) and Director of the Criswell Institute for PPE. Dr. Mitchell holds a Ph.D. in Christian Ethics and an M.Div. from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, an M.A. in Economics from the University of Texas in Arlington, an M.A. in Management Information Systems and M.S. in Engineering Management from West Coast University, and two B.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering, one from the Naval Postgraduate School and the other from Savannah State College. Before coming to Criswell, he was Director of the Land Center for Cultural Engagement and Associate Professor of Cultural Studies at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He also serves as a research fellow at the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention.

Dr. Katherine Pang has been appointed as Associate Professor of Psychology & Counseling and Director of the Psychology and Counseling programs. Dr. Pang holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology, an M.B.A. and an M.S. in Psychology from Texas A&M University-Commerce. She has also earned an M.Ed. in Educational Technology from the University of Texas at Brownsville, an M.Div. and a Th.M. in Old Testament from the Talbot School of Theology, an LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University Law School, a J.D. from the University of Dayton School of Law, and a B.A. in Political Science and Philosophy from Clark University. She is also the author of Constructing a Case: An Integrated Approach to Criminal Law and A Collaborative-Directive Consulting Model for Organizational Change.

Dr. Jeffrey Campbell has been appointed as Assistant Professor of Preaching. Dr. Campbell recently completed his Ph.D. in Preaching and Pastoral Ministry from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary after earning a B.A. in Biblical Studies and an M.A. in Ministry from Criswell College. Before joining the faculty, he was Senior Pastor of Bullard Southern Baptist Church in Bullard, Texas and had served as an adjunct at Criswell since 2012.

Brandon Seitzler has been appointed as Assistant Professor of Politics & Economics and Director of the PPE program. Professor Seitzler is a Ph.D. student in Public Policy and Political Economy at the University of Texas at Dallas, writing his dissertation on Protestantism’s impact on Brazil’s political and economic development. He also earned an M.S. in International Political Economy and a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies at UT-Dallas.

Earlier this year, the Board of Trustee elected Dr. Barry Creamer as the school’s seventh president and Dr. Wooddell as Vice President for Academic Affairs. The school also added Bill R. Watson to the faculty and reported a five-year high in enrollment for the Fall 2014 semester.
