Encounter Missions

ENCOUNTER MISSIONS provides the context whereby students can integrate the theoretical material gained through classroom experience with the practical opportunities of actual ministry involvement. Students are challenged by local and national speakers to do evangelism and missions at home and abroad. During the semester students take the gospel to the streets, local rescue missions, neighborhoods, to Crossover events sponsored by the Southern Baptist of Texas Convention and the Southern Baptist Convention, and on mission trips around the world. As a result, students have a richer educational experience and enter full-time ministry with a higher degree of professional confidence.

Professor Worthington's passion for Encounter Missions stems from his early years as a Criswell College student in the early 1980's when, through an Encounter Missions assignment, he sensed God calling him to take the gospel to reach the homeless in Dallas.
