MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
Are you looking for a college experience that is distinctively Christian? Consider the distinctives that make The Criswell College different. The Criswell College has a Word emphasis. We are totally committed to the Bible as the authoritative, inspired, and inerrant Word of God. Every student in every major receives a solid biblical and doctrinal foundation by taking classes in Old Testament, New Testament, Theology, Hermeneutics, and the original biblical languages of Greek and Hebrew. Every professor must teach in accordance with, and not contrary to, The Criswell College Articles of Faith.
The Criswell College has a Worldview emphasis. In this regard, Criswell offers more than the traditional Bible College model. Our worldview approach to ministry prepares students to view every academic discipline through a Christian frame of reference. Required courses in Philosophy, Ethics, Natural Science, The Ancient World, The Roman World, The Postmodern World, and American Culture equip Criswell students to engage our culture and the world of ideas from a Christian perspective.
The Criswell College has a Witness emphasis. The goal of the “Word” and “Worldview” emphasis is that we might bear a more effective witness to a world in need of Jesus Christ. Every Criswell student takes classes in Evangelism, Missions, and Preaching or Communication. Criswell also features “hands-on” ministry training in missions and evangelism. Every semester, Criswell students are involved in Encounter Missions assignments such as local church ministry, chaplaincy, street evangelism, or hospital visitation. Every year, Criswell faculty and staff lead students on North American and International mission trips. By the time they graduate, Criswell students are not only educated for ministry, they are already experienced in ministry.
While all of our degrees are fully accredited, we are different from the typical college or university. The Criswell College is focused upon preparing students for Kingdom service. If you are looking for a college that is distinctively Christian, Criswell is the right choice.
