Vision and Goals

The vision of the Criswell College Writing Center, in accordance with the vision of the college is to see “Scholarship On Fire.” The Writing Center will make every effort to encourage and to motivate the students who pass through our doors.  We insist on providing our students with the highest quality tutoring available, assisting them not only with the written project in hand but also with the general quality of their written work.

The Writing Center has three main goals:

1. work with faculty to assist those students with the greatest writing needs,
2. assist all students in improving their writing capabilities for academic classes
3. and offer help for students with writing projects not directly related to their academic classes, such as job letters and graduate school applications.

Info and Hours

The Writing Center is now open for all Criswell College students and is located for the summer in E317. The tutors will be happy to help students with every part of the writing process, from brainstorming for ideas, to constructing a thesis, clustering and outlining, drafting, revising, and polishing. Please be aware that there is no proofreading service, as the Writing Center desires to teach students how to identify and correct their own errors. Spring semester hours are as follows:

Monday: 8am-7pm (closed 12-1 for lunch)
Tuesday:  9am-7pm (closed 10-12 for chapel & lunch)
Wednesday:  8am-5pm (closed 12-1 for lunch)
Thursday:  9am-7pm (closed 10-12 for chapel & lunch)
Friday:  8am-4pm (closed 12-1 for lunch)
