Methods of Giving

Good stewardship is expressed in how we invest our talents, time, and treasures. Making a gift to Criswell College is a simple process, but it makes a huge impact on a student's life (and the many lives that will be impacted through future ministry). Your gift is literally an answered prayer to a Criswell College student and is an active demonstration of the Lord's provision!

Gifts-in-Kind: Gifts-in-kind are donations of assets other than cash such as:  stock, real estate, equipment, etc.  Gifts-in-kind are valued by the donor and receipt acknowledged by Criswell College.  Acceptance of gifts-in-kind often will depend on the College's ability to use the gift in accomplishing its charitable purpose.

Securities: Utilizing securities that have appreciated in value to fund charitable gifts is one of the most effective means of benefiting charity while obtaining considerable tax advantages.

OTHER WAYS TO GIVE:

Many people think that the only way they can have a part in supporting ministries is through their tithes and offerings at their local church.  It is often assumed that wealthy individuals, who are able to give large gifts of cash, bear the real responsibility of the support of Criswell College and its mission causes.

The truth is that our government wants to encourage all individuals to make gifts to support worthy charitable causes.  To do this, the government has provided several tax incentives that provide options to fit almost any need and any size gift.  Many people are discovering the fulfillment of making gifts of their personal assets to Criswell College, while retaining benefits for themselves and their family.  Gifts of this kind are called "planned gifts" or "life income gifts."

PLANNED GIVING:

Charitable Trusts and Charitable Gift Annuities, Bequests (all)
The central meaning to the word trust involves a firm confidence placed in an institution or an individual.  Trust is not a one-way street.  In order to work, trust must flow both ways because it involves obligations on both sides.  When we use the word trust we think of words like integrity, character, and faith.

Any gift is a gift that keeps giving beyond your lifetime. If you would like additional information about any of these or other giving arrangements, please call the Office of Development at 214-818-1311.
