JK: Class of 1986 (This Criswell graduate and his family are serving in a restricted country, therefore details are limited. Please pray for the safety of this family as they faithfully serve and minister in Southeast Asia.)

Dear Criswell Family, Can you imagine 25 towns in your immediate area that do not have a single church of any kind? Well, there are over 25,000 villages in Southeast Asia without a single church of any kind!

After graduating from Criswell College in 1986, my wife and I started a church planting ministry in Southeast Asia and acquired our first long term visa. Since this visa expired, we have only been issued one month visas and have had to rely on short visits to extend our ministry there. (Missionary visas are not available in this part of the world.)

A great opportunity has opened for us to return to Southeast Asia for a two year term. Our desire and passion is to see a church in every village. We will focus our efforts in evangelism, discipling and training leaders for the spontaneous multiplication of churches.

Please pray for the people of Southeast Asia and for our efforts to share Jesus with them. Also cover our family in your prayers.

Bob Mulima: Class of 2008

Criswell Family, Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Hope you are doing well.

God is doing great things! I just graduated with my MA at the Criswell College (May 10, 2008). I am preparing myself to get on the road to take the gospel wherever the Lord leads, but especially to my people in Uganda. We already have a radio show in Uganda reaching over 15 million people with the gospel from Monday to Friday each week. We are also currently building a church in Uganda. Please pray for us for our goal is to complete this by December 2008. If you know of anyone who can help us especially with the roofing let me know. But most important we need your prayers. I also need some exposure to different pastors and churches who might be interested in taking short term missions in Uganda. Let me know how this is can be done.

Please feel free to give me a call at 214-451-7764 or e-mail at . Also check out my web at www.tweomi.com.

Grace and peace to you.

In His employ,

Bob Mulima

Dr. David Cathey: Class of 1985

Dr. David Cathey now resides in Ephesus and has founded the Ephesus Learning Center, a unique place to experience a different kind of "tourism" in Turkey. It is located on the Aegean Sea and provides local and foreign believers a place to worship and learn more about Jesus Christ. In the words of Dr. Cathey, you can "go where the Apostle Paul went and do what he did."

The Ephesus Learning Center is located just across from St. John's Tomb and Church. Study the Bible "on location" and share with those who do not know about Christianity. It is an experienced pioneer outreach center, as well as a newly approved non-profit educational enterprise. Christians are encouraged to come stay at the center and learn within the richly historical context while sharing their beliefs with local Muslims in a Middle Eastern cultural environment!

The Ephesus Learning Center has many needs in order to operate at full capacity. You can contact Dr. David Cathey at: or

Steve Hayes: Class of 2002

Grace Community Church, 227 N. Beaton St., has announced that it has issued a call to Steve Hayes to be the senior pastor, and he has graciously accepted.

Hayes was born in Bremerhaven, Germany, in 1972, and shortly thereafter moved to Lake Charles, La., where he grew up. Hayes moved to Texas in 1993 and married his beautiful wife, Kim, in August 1996. They have four children, Trent, age 9; Cale, age 7; Pierce, age 5; and Jillian, age 3.

Hayes' formal biblical studies started in 1996 at Criswell College in Dallas, and continued until May 2002. He studied Greek and Hebrew and honed his skills in creative writing, biblical interpretation and homiletics - the art of preaching or writing sermons. During this time he also developed and refined his skills in research, technical writing and biblical analysis. After completing his studies, he was conferred with a Bachelor of Arts in biblical studies, and a Master of Arts in New Testament.

During his years of study, Hayes gained a tremendous amount of practical experience serving in a variety of positions.

Hayes' credentials are buttressed by his membership in several professional organizations. He serves on the board of directors for the "Share the Well Foundation," which is dedicated to providing resources and raising awareness for the oppressed people of India. He is also a founding member of "The Cartel," which is a group of Dallas-area pastors who focus on sharing information and experiences that benefit ministry geared toward emerging generations.

Hayes has also served as a creative consultant for "The Fusion Conference," which is an experience designed to ignite emerging generations in such a way that they will fuse their faith and life to change the world for Christ.

Hayes has a true shepherd's heart, and loves people. The key passage in scripture that Hayes strives to flesh out on a daily basis is Luke 10:27. When asked what motivates him as a pastor, he said, "I am a people person. I love listening to them and their hearts, and then serving them." His family life and service to the community all reflects well his heart for Christ.

Grace Community Church looks forward to having Hayes lead it as Grace continues to reach out and have a positive impact on Corsicana and the surrounding area.
