M.A.C.L.

The Master of Arts in Christian Leadership (M.A.C.L.) degree program is now more convenient than ever, with evening classes that easily fit into your schedule. This program is designed to provide basic theological and ministry education for those who want to be better equipped for ministry but have little or no previous theological education. If you are already in active ministry or would like to increase your leadership skills for being more involved in a church or ministry setting, the M.A.C.L. program was made for you. Upon successful completion of this degree plan, the student will exhibit the skills, knowledge, and leadership abilities to successfully lead the educational ministry of a local church.

The M.A.C.L. is intended primarily for lay persons, especially those who have limited time to attend graduate school. This is a great educational option for those who are working full time, have a family, want to be on a church staff, or desire to strengthen qualities of leadership. Its design also qualifies a missionary candidate whose mission board requires a year of graduate theological education for appointment (e.g. those undertaking specialized assignments, such as in medicine or agriculture). Applicants choose from two specialized program tracks available: Spiritual Leadership or Educational Leadership.

DELIVERY FORMAT

The M.A.C.L. program involves campus and occasional off-campus classes. The class size is intentionally designed for a high professor/student interaction. Due to the nature of this ministry course, students are given opportunities to implement their skills in local ministries and get experience in working alongside other students. Classes also train students to be effective and confident as individual ministry leaders. The students choose from two tracks for their study focus: Spiritual Leadership or Educational Leadership.

The M.A.C.L. program is offered each fall and spring term, as well as the January and summer terms. Classes are from 7:00-9:30PM (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings). With a convenient schedule of evening classes, students are able to map out a simple degree completion plan. Course materials are also available.

DEGREE COMPLETION

A Bachelor's degree is required for full acceptance into the M.A.C.L. program. Non-degree seeking students are welcome to attend class. Audit credit is available. Individuals seeking spiritual enrichment are also welcome to sit in on classes.
