The library subscribes to several databases that are useful for theological and biblical research. If you are off campus, you must obtain an ID and password from the library staff. Listed below are some of the most helpful databases.
ATLA Religion Database — ATLA indexes over 600 periodicals in theology, biblical studies, and religion in general, and offers full-text access to over 100 of these titles (including our own Criswell Theological Review). It is fully searchable by author, title, journal, scripture reference, year, etc. Click here to access the FirstSearch system and choose ATLA as the database to search. If you are off campus, obtain an ID and password from the library staff and enter it when prompted. If the article is not available in full text here, it may be available in another of our full-text databases below or in print in the library.
Academic Search Premier — This database contains the full text of over 300 scholarly journals in religion and philosophy, which are available for reading, printing, or download. It is best to search ATLA first, then use this database to find the full text. Click here to access the Ebsco system and choose Academic Search Premier as the database to search. If you are off campus, obtain an ID and password from the library staff and enter it when prompted. If the article is not available here, it may be available in another of our full-text databases on this page or in print in the library.
ProQuest Religion -- This database contains over 120 major magazines and journals in full text formats, which are available for reading, printing or downloading. It is best to search ATLA first. Then, if ATLA does not have full-text access to the desired article, look here. Click here to access the database. If you are off campus, obtain an ID and password from the library staff and enter it when prompted. If the article is not available here, it may be available in another of our full-text databases above or in print in the library.
Religious and Theological Abstracts — R&TA summarizes hundreds of periodicals in theology and biblical studies. Click here to access the R&TA search page. To log in from off campus, obtain an ID and password from the library staff and enter it when prompted.
