Criswell Women’s Club

And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.  Colossians 3:17

This verse from Colossians is the essence of what I would like to see for our organization during the coming year. As we grow in members and build relationships, may we be God honoring. As we work together to be a blessing to the faculty, staff and students of Criswell College, may we do it all as a service of love for our Lord.

The CWC leadership team for 2011-2012 is excited about the opportunities of service during the coming months. However, you do not have to be on the leadership team to be involved! There are wonderful opportunities of service for each of you—from baking Christmas bread for the faculty and staff to donating toothbrushes for hygiene kits distributed by students on Harvest Day to providing dollars for scholarships. God can use even the smallest contribution to accomplish great things.

Go right now and mark your calendars for upcoming luncheons. You will certainly not want to miss Monday, September 12. We want to start the year with a great attendance. It will be “Bring a Friend” day to hear Kathy Sibley and Diana Cooper share stories of “Traveling in Israel from a Woman’s Perspective”. Kathy and her husband, Jim, are former missionaries to Israel and Diana, wife of Dr. Lamar Cooper, has traveled many times to the Holy Land.

The November 14 luncheon will be “Crazy Hat Day” so start digging in your storage to find just the right headpiece. Ethel Sexton will be speaking to us that day and you know you don’t want to miss that.

On January 9, 2012 we will start the year off with a variety talent show featuring ladies from within the CWC membership. Plans are also being made for a great music program on March 12 and then on May 14 you will be entertained as Joy Davis shares “The History of Faberge”.

Members who have an email address will be receiving a copy of our newsletter every other month. For those who do not have email, find a member who does and ask them to share their newsletter with you. This is best way to keep up-to-date with CWC activities.

Looking forward to serving you in 2011-2012,

Mary Hunter
Criswell Women’s Club President
